Volunteer Opportunities with The Beacon Institute
We are always looking for volunteers, as our list of duties often exceeds the number of hours in a day or week!
Why volunteer with us?
We need you! We are an organization that offers great visibility for you and your organization if you are helping out at a function or educational session. (It’s fun, too.)
Where do you need volunteers?
At our fundraisers, our educational sessions, in our offices..
What type of needs are there?
- At fundraisers, we need help with welcoming/registering the attendees. We might need help with setting up/breaking down the area where the event is taking place.
- In the office, there are mailings, envelope stuffing, making preparations for a special event, a fundraiser, an educational offering at the Handelman Conference Center or elsewhere.
- For educational sessions, if off-site, we need help with registrations, distributing handouts/workbooks, name tags, room set up/breakdown.
- Committee member involvement: get to know other members, those who you wish to work side-by-side with, become more visible in the senior care industry, learn new skills, use your existing expertise to enhance the committee’s goals and purpose, while benefiting your organization’s relations and place in the industry.
Volunteer Preferred Qualities:
- For committee involvement, volunteer MUST be a Member or Associate Member with LifeSpan Network.
- Keeper of open communication: let us know what you are willing to do and what your schedule can handle—we are very flexible and so appreciative of your interest in working with us!
If unable to come in on a scheduled day or time, be sure to let us know so that other arrangements can be made—often our mailings, etc are very scheduling sensitive, which we believe adds to our effectiveness in gaining a strong response to our seminar attendance.
